3 Months

Hudson will officially be 3 months old on Wednesday. I can't believe he's getting to be such a big boy, he weighs over 10 pounds now but we haven't been to the doctor recently (thank goodness) so I'm not sure exactly how much he weighs. He now sleeps in his bed every night until around 5 or 6 am when he wakes up to eat and I'm too tired to sit up in his nursery and feed him so I just bring him into bed with me. We have had the pack n' play set up in our room since day one but he never slept too long in it. He pretty much prefers to sleep with me in my bed, that's why we started the transition to nursery sleeping around 7 weeks. I have been sleeping a lot more these days now that he's not up every 3 or 4 hours eating. We give him a bath around 7:30 then feed him and put him to bed. Every once in a while he will wake up in the late evening hours for another quick feed but for the most part he sleeps through the night. He started consistently sleeping through the night the same week I went back to work, it's like he knew I needed more rest... what a blessing!
In the last few weeks he has been cooing and smiling non stop! He plays with his activity mat and reaches for the toys hanging from it. We are still working on trying to like the bumbo chair and swing, he much prefers to be held. He's great in the baby bjorn or sling while we are out and about or if I'm making dinner or moving around the house. While I get ready for the day he sits in his swing/bouncy chair and as long as the shower or hair drier is on he is perfectly content but as soon as I start flat ironing my hair or putting make up on he wails! He's a big fan of loud noises like most infants are, as I mentioned he likes the shower and hair drier, he also likes the vacuum cleaner. He sleeps with a big noisy box fan and an ceiling fan on in his nursery.
I started back to work two weeks ago, the first week back I was able to work the weekend so Matt and my mom were able to watch him while I was at work. Last week was the first week we used Bogusia (the nanny) for a full day. Although I was nervous about leaving him with someone other than Matt or my Mom I knew he would be okay. I am very comfortable with Bogusia and she comes highly recommended from one of my coworkers. She has a major grandmother vibe, which is comforting to me.
Although I have finally put away most of Hudson's new born clothes, he still fits into some of them. He's such a little peanut. He is finally starting to get a little chunk on his thighs, a belly, and double chin but most of his shorts fall right off of him.
Hudson: I love our time together and I love that I miss you so much while I'm at work. I love how you stare at me while you are nursing. Words can not describe how it melts my heart when you smile at me. I love watching you learn and explore new things. I love watching daddy hold you and how you fall asleep almost instantly when you're in his arms. I think about you non stop and can't wait to show you all the world has to offer. No matter how old you are, you will always be my baby boy.

The start of a smile

I just want to eat him up!

He looks like he just tasted something yucky

On the 4th of July

The cutest lips I've ever seen

He was sleeping with a pacifier and thumb in his mouth!

He's just so funny.
