Hudson,
Last night you were not feeling so well. You have been teething lately and it has been cramping your style big time! You already have four teeth and you are working on four more. I put you down to sleep around 8:00, this is your normal bedtime. You were restless and I could tell you were uncomfortable. Around 11:00 you woke up and started to cry. Usually, I play tough Mommy and let you cry for a little while to see if you will settle yourself back to sleep. Tonight, I couldn't do that. I knew you needed to be comforted. So, I went into your room, picked you up, changed your diaper, and gave you some Tylenol (you had Motrin right before you went to bed). On the way back to my room, you saw Daddy on the couch. You gave him the biggest, cheesiest smile. I brought you into bed with me, fully expecting for you to play for a little while or cry since you were completely awake by this time. I put you on my chest just like when you were a newborn, you tossed your head from side to side a few times and in an instant you were out like a light. Sleeping the most peaceful sleep. That's it.... all you needed was to feel safe and comfortable in Mommy's arms. I never ever in a million years want to forget this moment. You snuggled so perfectly into my arms and on my chest, it's like you were made to fit. We snuggled for a long long time, then I scooted you off of my chest onto the bed and we snuggled there for a while longer until I decided it was time for me to fall asleep and you would ultimately get better sleep in your own room. I scooped you up and put you in your crib, covered you up with your little blanket and gave you a kiss. Man, I love being your Mommy!
Right before I put you back into your crib
