Christmas Surprise

This year in mid September my dad had the whole family reserve December 20Th for a "Christmas Surprise" he wouldn't tell us even one detail about what was planned. With all of the craziness of this particular holiday season (my mom being in and out of the hospital), he ended up telling us the plan about a week early. He had reserved a HUGE stretch Lincoln Navigator for the family to go on our annual Christmas Light and Cocoa Ride. Every year our family goes around looking at Christmas lights drinking hot chocolate sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year dad went the extra step to make it possible for us all to go in one car and nobody needed to drive (although this year I opted out of adding Bailey's to my hot chocolate, for obvious reasons). It was so much fun. We drove around for 3 hours in all kinds of neighborhoods. Some people put on SPECTACULAR Christmas light displays! We all got lots of ideas of how we wanted to decorate our houses next year. About half way through we needed to stop for a bottle of Champagne (and a bottle of sparkling cider for me) so we rolled up to Safeway in our pimped out ride, it was pretty funny. I felt like a celebrity! Thanks dad for such an amazing night. We all missed mom so much this year, next year will be even better since she will get to enjoy the ride as well.

I promise it's Cider
