Outside Finds

This weekend was so nice, we spent quite a bit of time outside. It's so rare that we have a nice weekend in June we thought we'd enjoy it. We found out we have a small bee problem (exterminator called, appointment made).  We noticed a bee flying into one of the cracks between bricks on our patio. Matt decided to investigate and found the most interesting piece of bee architecture. The bees had been bringing small green leaves into the crack and building a tunnel. As interesting as it was, we would rather not have bees in the back yard so we removed the tunnel and blocked the hole.

Today Matt found a little birds nest in one of our front yard trees. It's a little sad because it's absolutely perfect, like the birds nests in story books, but it is on the very edge of a flimsy branch.  The minute a bird or egg lands in this nest it will probably fall to the ground.
