Today Hudson is two weeks old. We are adjusting to having a newborn in the house slowly but surely. Sometimes it's easier than others. I was sitting in his pediatrician's office today thinking I have probably cried more tears in the last two weeks than in my entire lifetime. If he is upset (usually due to a gas bubble) I get so sad and cry with him and when he's happy I cry happy tears because I don't want him to grow up. I'm just a big old hormonal mess! Matt came home from the store last week and found me sitting on the couch with Hudson in my arms crying, when he asked me why I was crying I just responded "Because he will never be 5 days old again" he's growing up too fast!
Hudson is doing just fine, we have been to the pediatrician's office 4 times now in his short 2 week long life. Yep, I'm that mommy. I warned all of my nursing friends that I would be like this but I was wishing I wouldn't have to be. He has had two regular check ups at week 1 and week 2 and two sick appointments, the first was for thrush and the second was for a rash. He's recovering just fine. Today he had his two week appointment and he wasn't quite at his birth weight yet so we have to go back in another week to make sure he continues to gain and not loose. I have been primarily breast feeding but sometimes he needs a little extra so I have been supplementing with formula. I made the connection last night after gas bubble number three in two weeks that perhaps the formula is not agreeing with his stomach. We will try a sensitive formula starting today and see how that goes. He had his newborn pictures taken yesterday, our photographer sent me a sneak peak last night! They are adorable! I can't wait to see the rest of them.
Hudson~ You are two weeks old and I love you even more today than I could possibly imagine! Here are a few things you are doing this week that I never want to forget.
~The way you shape your mouth into a perfect "O" shape every once in a while when you are sleeping but mostly when you are awake and happy.
~The way you pee a perfect stream of urine when we take your diaper off- we are getting better at controlling the garden hose day by day.
~The way you snuggle on me or daddy after crying and sigh just before you fall asleep.
~The way you smile in your sleep.
~ Your feet.
~ How your hair is getting curlier every day, just like daddy's.
~How all of your outfits, even the smallest ones are big on you.
~The way you stretch so big when you wake up from a nap.
Here are the first two pictures our photographer sent us as a sneak peak of your newborn pictures, seriously I'm not sure if you could get any cuter!
Here are a few I took this week with my phone (I apologize for the quality of the photos)
