Trial Run

As you all probably know, my baby boy will be turing one very very soon. I am trying not to get carried away with his birthday, because I know the first birthday is way more for the mother  parents than the baby. He probably won't even eat any cake. Regardless, I've been intrigued by cake pops since the first time I saw them in a random little restaurant in Queen Creek. It was a while ago, I actually think I was still on maternity leave. While eating lunch with my Sis today, we started talking about baking. My Sis is a stupendous baker, check out her blog http://destinationbeachsidebakery.blogspot.com/ if you have any interest in sugary deliciousness. Anyway, she mentioned that her favorite cake decorating store was right down the street from where we were having lunch. I stopped in and gathered the supplies I would need for these cake pops and came home to give it a whirl. I had two of my friends over to help. Thank goodness, I sure needed it. These little suckers (no pun intended) can be challenging to make. Some turned out more perfect than others, and we learned what works and got a few ideas for decorating.
